Winchester Mystery House is located at 525 S Winchester Blvd, North San Jose, San Jose, CA 95128-2588. Visitors can tour the house and gardens. It was once the personal residence of wealthy Sarah Winchester, the widow of firearm magnate William Wirt Winchester. She kept construction going on the 160-room Victorian mansion for 38 years.

The tour was a well thought out and interesting. The house was beautiful but yet strange. The grounds were beautiful. Everything I thought it would be but more beautiful. It was not that crowded when we went given an option of tours. We took a behind the scenes tour which was very interesting as well and went to places the basic tour did not go. But I have to tell you that by the time we walked all the stairs and was in the heat the other hour of tour we were kind of toured out. This house has a lot of history. We were warned by our guide to stay with the group or we could get lost. One bad drawback no pictures/cameras!!! NO photos allowed inside the house but you can take pictures on the exterior. They don’t say that on tickets or website. For me the prices were a bit high but totally worth it. I’d highly recommend the tour.

Take time to look at the architecture from this amazing house both inside and out. The gardens and the buildings that surround the house. There’s also a small cafe mostly has sandwiches, burgers, and drinks. The gift shop next to the cafe has some vintage toys and other souvenirs like shirts, magnets, and more. After viewing this famous mansion it would be a good idea not to rush home. There are alot of nice restaurants around the area.
